Kippy Calhoun was a mercenary associated with the Brass Blades during the years before the organization was nearly destroyed by Luther Mortanas. Kippy befriended Davrek Valzorwyn while Davrek was still surviving through small cons, street performances, and whatever work he could find in Elgaard. It was Kippy who introduced Davrek to the Brass Blades, giving him his first durable connection to the company that would later define much of his life.
For Davrek, joining the Blades provided regular work, comradeship, and a measure of stability he had not possessed earlier. Kippy’s introduction therefore had consequences far beyond an ordinary recruitment: Davrek later became Blade Commander, helped rebuild the organization after Mortanas’s attack, played a central role in the Harrowing, and founded the Aegis Regnum. Surviving records preserve little about Kippy’s own later career, so his significance is remembered primarily through this early connection rather than through a detailed account of his subsequent deeds.
