Quechko is the capital and central administrative district of the Qoraokllo Empire. It is the seat of the Tawaquatinsuyo, the meeting place of the imperial council, and the location of the principal temple of Kua in Qoraokllo.
The city concentrates institutions that are distributed on a smaller scale throughout the four Apekkos. Imperial offices coordinate records, labor obligations, regional reports, and the movement of supplies, while major storehouses help support the capital and provide reserves for wider emergencies. The palace of the Tawaquatinsuyo and the great temple of Kua represent the two institutions with the greatest influence over succession and imperial legitimacy.
Quechko’s role is administrative more than commercial. Qoraokllo’s limited foreign trade and difficult mountain transport prevent it from functioning like the great market cities of the lowlands. Its importance instead comes from being the place where regional authority converges: the four Tawasuyos attend council there, major disputes can be brought before the central government, and claimants to the throne must ultimately secure recognition in the capital.
