Cain Tiarnach is a Cain of the Skyre Folk traditionally associated with Inis Faerna. Its presence on the island predates the arrival of Asnor settlers in 5671 SE. Asnor histories of Brynjolf Erobreren remember early conflict with the Cain during the first settlement of the island, though surviving accounts of those events are shaped heavily by Asnor oral tradition.
Records from the period surrounding the Asnor Succession War of 8723 SE identify Shyrrik Ironoak as the Cain’s secular leader and Syllia Heartwood as its Athair. The Wave Rider Vulen Shoalrunner is also associated with Tiarnach in those accounts. Shyrrik had earlier met with Thorgest Iarlsson as part of the negotiations that cemented the general peace between the Skyre Folk and Asnorland in 8661 SE.
Cain Tiarnach remains one of the most visible Skyre communities to Asnor observers because both peoples maintain substantial populations on Inis Faerna. That proximity has produced a history containing direct conflict as well as negotiation and practical cooperation.
