The Swamp Chapel is a ruined religious complex in the wetlands outside Thermeira. By the time of the Drakefire campaign, much of its lower structure was flooded and its tower had become a convenient lair for dangerous creatures. A black dragon had previously occupied the ruin and was killed there by an adventuring party whose survivors later refused to return.
Years later, another creature took the site: an aberrant drake-like predator covered in staring eyes and capable of producing several forms of magical attack. The Drakefire Phalanx killed it after being hired to stop attacks on local merchants.
The chapel predates those lairs. Old religious scrolls survived in sealed storage, and a flooded basement contains a well so deep that investigators were unable to reach its bottom. Whatever older purpose the site served has not yet been fully established.
