Ashfire Cradle is a volcanic mountain region lying broadly due west of Arkrist. The Drakefire Phalanx reached it by arcane airship while searching for the Eye of Visthuun. The voyage took roughly ten days; the campaign notes describe a long westward flight, but the region’s precise political jurisdiction has not yet been established.
At the center of the region rises Mount Vorthrek, whose volcanic caldera contains the ruined dwarven fortress Khaz’Vel’Tor. Ash, basalt, volcanic heat, and dangerous flying creatures make the region hazardous even before reaching the fortress itself.
