Giotractuszeit, also known as Tydral, is a time dragon whose lair lies within a remote region of the Broken Hour. When the Brass Blades reached him in 8753 SE, they did not understand the nature of the realm they had entered. They described his lair as being at the end of time, an understandable interpretation of the extreme temporal distortions surrounding it but not a literal final moment toward which all of Creation is predetermined to arrive.
The Blades sought Giotractuszeit while helping Abendigo pursue the temporal magic he believed might allow him to undo the destruction of his family at Lochsmald. Their route took them through Morgrom, the deepest levels of the Eightfold Depths, and Numedios before Abendigo learned how to reach the dragon’s lair. Giotractuszeit then taught him the ritual knowledge and temporal understanding needed to open a passage through time.
That instruction did not give Abendigo a means to replace history with whatever past he preferred. The temporal journey that followed became part of a single coherent sequence of events involving the Rift Spar, Abendigo’s later apotheosis, and the approaching Harrowing. Abendigo’s original goal of rewriting history so that his family would be restored to him was not achieved.
Giotractuszeit’s presence in the Broken Hour is not widely understood. Even the Brass Blades, despite having reached his lair, did not recognize that the place they experienced as the end of time was part of Vaerath. His relationship to the realm beyond maintaining a lair there, including how long he has inhabited it or how fully he understands its surviving contradictions, is not established.
