Ipswitch Manor is the abandoned ancestral estate of the Ipswitch family south of Mesus, reached by an old logging road. Local stories described masked gatherings, impossible nights, and visitors who emerged with contradictory memories long before the manor became the subject of a formal investigation.

The estate was once associated with Lord Albrecht Ipswitch, whose research moved from occult scholarship into attempts to contact a being connected to Carcosa and the figure known as the King in Yellow. Those experiments fractured the manor’s relationship with ordinary reality. Investigators later experienced two overlapping versions of the estate: one ruined and decayed, the other preserved as if time had stopped decades earlier. Actions in one version did not always produce the same result in the other, and specific objects or mechanisms could force transitions between them.

The intact version contained hidden passages behind walls, an alchemical workshop, old ritual research, and Albrecht’s private study. The deeper levels included crypts, a torture chamber, a cavern and subterranean spring, and other spaces extending well beyond what the house’s exterior suggested. The estate eventually released the investigators and Koriana Ipswitch, but the precise nature of the pocket reality, the entity responsible for maintaining it, and whether the site is now permanently stable remain uncertain.
