Distribution: Widespread across Kor Sirok
Game Rules: Use standard Dwarf ancestry rules
Dwarves are a widespread people with long histories in mountain regions, underground settlements, mining communities, and mixed cities across Kor Sirok. Their settlements range from independent states to small enclaves within larger societies, and dwarven communities have developed under very different political and cultural conditions.
Krynhold in northern Patoris is one of the best-known surviving dwarven states. Its mountain halls, mines, fortifications, and civic traditions have made stonework and metalwork especially prominent there, and worship of Lorinokh and Beskatel is influential. Elsewhere, the abandoned city of Gorneduhr beneath the foothills of the Kenai Mountains preserves evidence of a separate dwarven history in Aesala. Dwarven settlements and individuals are also found throughout the Skyre Islands and in major mixed cities.
The familiar distinctions among surface dwarven lineages remain useful for ancestry rules and family history, but they do not define a universal culture. A dwarf raised in Krynhold, an Aesalan mining settlement, an Asnor port, or a cosmopolitan city may share ancestry while having very different customs and loyalties.
The Duergar are a distinct subterranean branch descended from ancient dwarven populations that migrated into the Underdark. Their long separation below the Spatial Break produced a separate ancestry and history.
