Gorneduhr is an old dwarven city beneath the foothills of the Kenai Mountains. Its miners eventually broke through into the Underdark, creating a connection to deeper subterranean routes. The city was later abandoned, leaving its mines and underground works largely empty for a period.
Gorneduhr is particularly associated with deposits of Shriekstone, an unusual material later sought by Nicomachus Ruanar for the defense of Entwood. In 8752 SE, the Brass Blades traveled to the abandoned city expecting to recover Shriekstone, only to discover that Drow connected to Venorik Killianen had already removed much of the accessible material through the Underdark routes. Following those tunnels eventually brought the Blades to Terl’Narquel.
After the Harrowing, Gorneduhr was resettled as an outpost and fortress of the Brass Blades. Its location at the meeting point between the Kenai foothills and the Underdark gives the site continuing strategic importance beyond the value of its old mines.
