Shriekstone is an unusual crystalline material found in the abandoned dwarven workings around Gorneduhr beneath the foothills of the Kenai Mountains. Its broader properties are poorly documented, but Nicomachus Ruanar discovered that it could be used as a power source in the defensive weapons he developed for Entwood in 8752 SE.
The Brass Blades traveled to Gorneduhr to recover Shriekstone for Nicomachus’s cannon and found that much of the accessible material had already been removed. Tunnels led from the old dwarven mines into the Underdark, where the Blades discovered that the Drow revolutionary organization Venorik Killianen had harvested the stone and carried it back toward Terl’Narquel.
Only a limited quantity was recovered during the expedition. The shortage forced Nicomachus to alter his plans for Entwood’s defense and contributed to his decision to complete the Fist of Beskatel as an alternative weapon. No widespread industry based on Shriekstone is known to have developed from the Entwood experiments.
