Distribution: Widespread across Kor Sirok
Game Rules: Use standard Elf ancestry rules
Elves are a widespread people whose communities have existed across Kor Sirok for much of recorded history. Elven populations are found in large cities, rural settlements, forests, coastal regions, and independent communities on several continents. Their long lives allow some traditions and historical memories to persist for spans that would encompass many generations of shorter-lived peoples, but there is no single elven political or cultural tradition.
High Elves and Wood Elves are common surface lineages. These distinctions describe ancestry more readily than nationality: local language, religion, law, and custom depend primarily on the societies in which particular communities developed. Wood Elf communities around the Gulf of Keravnos, for example, preserve some of the oldest surviving mortal traditions concerning the forgotten civilization associated with Visthuun, while elves elsewhere have no special relationship to those stories.
Caldarai in western Patoris is one of the better-known contemporary states with an elven majority. Its hereditary monarchy, forest settlements, coastal city of Ifal Nalanore, and long relationship with Rienda Tower belong to Caldarai history rather than to elves as a whole.
The Drow are a distinct subterranean branch descended from ancient elven populations that migrated into the Underdark. Thousands of years below the Spatial Break produced a separate ancestry and a collection of independent deep-world societies.
Other elven peoples are known primarily from beyond Kor Sirok and are listed with the planar ancestries in Ancestries.
