Helnharr Jamis was a Tavashi figure associated with the Wraith River Union during the 8793 SE crisis surrounding The Voiceless in Arkrist. The surviving record does not establish a formal Union rank for him, but he and Umtix Nimblefingers served as important underworld contacts during the investigation of the city’s disappearances. Helnharr was willing to cooperate with Arkrist’s lawful authorities when their interests overlapped, and he coordinated with Justiciar Ollabar Wyvernpike when Tygrom Lathgerr refused to help decipher a coded message left by Koriana Ipswitch.
When Tygrom was murdered, Helnharr summoned the investigators to the scene, allowing them to question the dead man and recover the keyword needed to continue decoding Koriana’s message. Later in the crisis, the Wraith River Union and the Justiciars launched separate attacks against suspected Voiceless positions beneath Arkrist. Both forces were ambushed. Helnharr was killed during the Union’s assault, along with many of the people who accompanied him.
Koriana’s later correspondence indicated that she suspected Helnharr of being involved in attempts on the lives of people in her circle. The surviving campaign record establishes the suspicion but does not conclusively determine whether Helnharr was personally responsible for those attacks. His death preceded the later revelation that the Union’s Dawn, Guzzax, had secretly been directing the Voiceless conspiracy.
