Inis Muirin is a comparatively small major island in the central Skyre Islands, lying west of Inis Tierneg and south of Inis Olsang. Its scale and position place it among the dense network of short sea crossings that connects the middle of the archipelago. The island’s mapped terrain is less mountainous than Inis Markul, Inis Faerna, or Inis Cailean, though its coasts remain rugged by the standards of many lands outside the Skyre chain.

Inis Muirin is an Asnor Thegndom and is also associated with Cain Earnan of the Skyre Folk. Its principal mapped settlements are Borgvik and Mikni. The island’s political history reflects the decentralized nature of Asnorland: its Thegn maintains local authority and military resources while owing allegiance to the Stadtholder.

In 8723 SE, Thegn Dandod Herfsson recognized Cap Tan Ro’geers as the rightful Stadtholder after Cap appeared bearing the Mantle of Rektesh. Forces from Inis Muirin joined the coalition against Ulrik Lindvig and participated in the wider campaigns of the Asnor Succession War of 8723 SE.
