The name Brass Bastion has been used for two successive headquarters of the Brass Blades in Tadrium. The first stood in the northern part of Elgaard near the city walls and was constructed in 8721 SE after the company established a permanent base in the kingdom.
That original bastion was destroyed in 8751 SE after a contract brought the Blades into conflict with Luther Mortanas. Mortanas’s agents burned the headquarters while much of the company was committed elsewhere, killing most of the members who remained there and leaving the organization close to collapse.
Survivors regrouped around Trinswood in Scarsholm. Later in the same year they began developing a new site north of the village, initially through a mining enterprise that helped support the rebuilding effort. The project expanded into a fortified headquarters and inherited the name Brass Bastion from the destroyed Elgaard stronghold.
The second Bastion marked a change in the company’s relationship with Tadrium. Rather than operating from a prominent headquarters inside the capital, the recovering Blades established a more defensible base in a rural region whose mines and surrounding land could support the organization directly.
