Fenro was a mentor to Tusky of the Brass Blades. His importance to the events of the early 8750s SE began when he recovered the Clockwork Heart from the ruins of Winterguard, an ancient Qhalleess facility that had once been used to contain and study dangerous extraplanar beings.

Zhaken Amberheart abducted Fenro and brought him to Adamantis Tower in the Aessjorthe Plains, where Zhaken used him during a ritual intended to attune to the Clockwork Heart. Exposure to the artifact’s thousands of simultaneous recurring patterns overwhelmed Fenro’s ability to relate his thoughts to the world around him. The ritual severely damaged his mind and left him unable to communicate coherently. The Brass Blades were unable to prevent Zhaken from completing his immediate objective, but they rescued Fenro before Amberheart used Adamantis’s spatial magic to move the entire tower away.

The Blades brought Fenro to Krynhold, where Arcanist Thordahr cared for him while Tusky searched for a way to restore his damaged mind. During the group’s later dealings with Baba Yaga, Tusky succeeded in restoring his mentor. The surviving record establishes little about Fenro’s life before his discovery of the Clockwork Heart or about his later years, and his significance is therefore primarily tied to Tusky and the chain of events surrounding Zhaken’s use of the artifact.
