Zhaken Amberheart was one name used by a human wizard with an unnaturally long life. Other aliases include Marin Nightshade, Drazhan Bulgakov, Djoser Sanura, Skari Harang, and Erland Aumont. Amberheart is described as a powerful wizard, clean shaven with red tattoos over the entirety of his right hand. He is said to have originally hailed from the Skyre Islands.
In 8752 SE, Amberheart was located in northern Patoris in the Aessjorthe Plains, where he controlled the ancient Adamantis Tower of the College Arcanum. He was conducting a ritual to attune himself to the Clockwork Heart, an ancient Ordai mechanism concerned with recurring processes and synchronization. In the process he had kidnapped and severely injured the mind of Fenro, the mentor of Hannibal ‘Tusky’. The Brass Blades attempted to interrupt the ritual but were unsuccessful. They did manage to rescue Fenro, but Amberheart completed enough of the working to attune himself to the Heart. He later applied principles learned from the artifact to coercive devices supplied to Dhuulan Havar, after which Amberheart invoked Adamantis’s inherent spatial magic and teleported the entire tower away.
In 8753 SE, Amberheart conducted a ritual in an extradimensional space accessed from a pyramid in the city of Qaranth which opened the way for the Primordial Change Spirit Othrazhul to intrude into Kor Sirok. He wasn’t successful in completing the ritual entirely though. He was interrupted by the Brass Blades and transformed into an abomination for his failure. After nearly overwhelming the Brass Blades in his new form, he was banished to Auslura. After a short time, the Brass Blades hunted him down in Auslura to ensure that he was not able to continue the ritual he started.
